Volunteers work in groups at five locations along the route (each 5-mile mark) to record the place and time of the runners. The information is relayed to the press room, where it is immediately used to service the media and adjudicate the results. All forms and extensive instructions will be mailed to each volunteer prior to the race.
Hydration Stations
Volunteers are responsible for arriving at their assigned station on time and assisting the team captains with setting up the stations. At the end of the day, volunteers are responsible for breaking down the station and cleaning up in and around the stations. To ensure cleanliness, vinyl gloves will be distributed at every hydration station. All volunteers assigned to the hydration station must wear gloves at all times while they are mixing and distributing the fluids.
