Another chapter in Boston’s
illustrious road running history was written on
Sunday, October 14 as the inaugural running of
the B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by New England
Baptist Hospital, drew 2,529 starters from 28
states to Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace
park system.
Wayne
Levy, of the host Boston Athletic Association,
led a 1-2-3 club sweep of the men’s race and Sarah
Nixon, of Medfield was the women’s open
division champion. Tim
Kelly, of Weymouth, and Jane
Raymond-Hall, of Watertown, were victorious
in the wheelchair division.
